Cancer is regarded as one of the most dangerous diseases ever to come across in human history and it can simply be defined as Overgrowth of cells.

There are different kinds of cancers and we are going to discuss Bladder Cancer in this article.

How does it start?

When the cells that make up our Urinary bladder start to grow in an irregular manner and there is no proportion of their growth then it is the start of Bladder Cancer.

With the passage of time this can prove very dangerous because as the cell keeps on growing, they can turn themselves into a Tumor and then spread to other parts of the body as well. This can be regarded as the final Nail in the coffin as it becomes almost impossible to recover from that state of health.

What is Bladder?

Human bladder is a hollow organ in the lower pelvis and it is included in the excretory system of human anatomy.

Function of Bladder

The main function of the bladder is to work as a sac that stores urine in it and the walls of the bladder that are flexible and muscular contract themselves when urine is passed out via Urethra.

So, we can surely now understand the importance of the bladder in the human body.

Different Types of Bladder Cancer

  • Urothelial Carcinoma

It is almost a surety that if someone is suffering from bladder cancer, then it just has to be this kind of cancer.

It is the most widely spread form of Bladder cancer.

It is evident from the name of this cancer that it starts from the urothelial cells of the bladder but the tumors can even develop at several different places of the bladder.

  • Squamous Cell Carcinoma

If we have to make a rough estimate then from about One thousand patients of Bladder cancer, only one or two will be suffering from this type of bladder cancer. It is for sure one of the rarest types to be found in human beings.

  • Small Cell Carcinoma

This type of cancer is perhaps the rarest kind of bladder cancer and it is once in a blue moon that a patient with such type of bladder cancer is reported. However, although there aren’t many patients reported, it is still a very dangerous disease and immediate chemotherapy is required for its treatment because it is one of the fastest growing cancers.

Treatment of Bladder Cancer

Depending upon the advice of the doctor, Treatment can basically consist of two things.

  1. Drugs
  2. Chemotherapy

If the cancer is not spreading very quickly and it has been diagnosed quite early then it can be controlled by using certain medicine that can stem the growth of cancerous cells.

However, if the growth is getting out of control with the cells growing rapidly then chemotherapy is a must and it is one of the most expensive and dangerous forms of treatment as well which can have its own complications.

So, we should try our level best to avoid triggers for bladder cancer if we want to live a healthy life.
